Get to know Cory

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I started off counseling in college helping others with their classes. I found my love there and it hasn’t changed since!

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work great with people who are open to having a fun and honest conversation.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

That it is OKAY to feel how you are feeling, it’s about how we process it after that.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I wanted to be able to reach a wider area of people outside of just a clinic setting. This gives me the ability to reach the entire state of Ohio!

What inspires you?

Seeing my mentors in the field and the hope of being able to reach their levels of excellence one day.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

You can expect to be welcomed and prepare to answer a lot of questions! The first session is our intro on how we get to know each other and I want to know as much as quickly as possible so I can better assist!

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want the person to come out knowing that there is possibility for change and now they have support.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I am a gamer, animal lover, and longboarder.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My love for animals.
