"As one who has experienced personal trauma and loss, I have an authentic understanding of how we are impacted by painful life circumstances and how building new life skills can empower us once again. "
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My journey into social work began with my own lived experience in the foster care system. Growing up navigating that world, I knew early on that my life's purpose was to help others find stability, safety, and hope. Finding social work was the moment everything aligned. Today, as a supervisor and EMDRcertified trauma clinician, I leverage both my personal path and professional expertise to offer compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed support to individuals from all walks of life.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals who are ready to explore their healing in a safe, grounded, and nonjudgmental space.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
The one thing I wish every client knew is that healing is not a linear, neat process with a fixed deadline—and you do not need to be "broken" or have it all figured out to deserve support.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The initial appointment is a casual, grounded conversation. There is no expectation for you to "know where to start" or dive straight into your deepest trauma right away.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I firmly believe that every person—regardless of body shape, size, identity, background, or life circumstances—deserves dignity and respect. My door is open to all without judgment.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Rather than focusing on what is "wrong" with you, my approach centers on what happened to you and recognizing the strength you already possess. I view our work as a collaborative partnership aimed at helping you reclaim your voice and peace.
