About Rachel
As a therapist, I focus on building relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and collaboration. I strive to create a safe environment where clients can strengthen coping skills and heal from past trauma. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience working with children, youth, and young adults facing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, autism, and other developmental disabilities. My experience includes roles as a behavioral specialist, therapist, and school social worker.
I use a person-centered approach while incorporating cognitive-behavioral techniques. As a licensed trauma specialist, I understand our past experiences can impact our present—and I believe the brain continues to grow and adapt, making healing possible. Although the work can be challenging, we will build the tools and resilience needed for healing together.
I believe growth, self-compassion, and healing matter more than perfection. I look forward to working with you as you take meaningful steps toward healing and growth. Reaching out for support can be difficult, but you've already taken the first step. I invite you to schedule a time for us to connect and determine whether I am the right fit for your journey.

"As someone who has worked in behavioral health for 30+ years and parent to a young person with mental health concerns, I am knowledgeable about a wide variety of concerns and familiar with the personal challenges of navigating the systems of care in our community as well as life itself. "
Get to know Rachel
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have long been interested in how the brain operates and impacts behavior and life experiences. At 19, I began working with children who experienced significant early childhood trauma. It was then that I realized I wanted my life's work to be supporting these children. I have since learned that the best way to do so is by helping the entire family system become stronger and healthier. I have expanded into a love of working with all age groups. I am especially passionate about helping young parents learn healthy ways to parent in order to break family cycles.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I love working with all ages of children and youth. I work well with young adults in their 20's.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish more people understood that there is no quick fix or magic solution in therapy. There are tools that can help improve outcomes, but true change takes time, consistency, and repetition.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first therapy session, we will take time to get to know each other and discuss what you are hoping to gain from therapy. During the early stages, we will focus on building trust and rapport. This is also an opportunity for you to decide whether I feel like a good fit for your needs.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I grew up in a family where there was a climate of secrets and abuse. I was always the truth teller and valued standing up for others. I continue to value honesty, being direct, kindness, and empathy.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I allow clients to take the lead. They let me know where they would like to go and what they would like to accomplish through therapy.
