About Mycca
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) with 19 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with individuals, couples, and families, supporting clients as they navigate life transitions, emotional challenges, and relational concerns. I am deeply committed to helping people strengthen self-efficacy, build insight, and move toward meaningful personal growth through a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship.
I earned my master’s degree in family and consumer sciences from New Mexico State University. My approach is strength-based, empathetic, and grounded in unconditional positive regard. I value building strong therapeutic rapport and frequently incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients reframe unhelpful thought patterns and overcome obstacles.
I believe you are more than your struggles or past experiences. Together, we will identify your strengths, set meaningful goals, and create practical tools to support progress between sessions. I strive to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel supported, encouraged, and empowered as you move forward in your healing journe

"I believe in the power of support and unconditional positive regard to manifest resilience, and I believe that everyone deserves a comeback."
Get to know Mycca
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I was fortunate that a professor saw potential and offered me an opportunity to continue my education and learn about therapy. From there I have fallen in love with learning better ways to help people and be a point of safety and change.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I feel that in a virtual modality, tweens through seniors have the most success, but ultimately it depends on the rapport and the motivation of the client
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
That it is nothing like TV/movies. Therapy is a space to be support, find new ideas and strategies, and unload the burdens that we have carried for a long time or just recently. Also, tools can be learned and applied to better manage stressors.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first/early session, expect to explore expectations of therapy, safety and disclosures, joining/establishing rapport, identify goals and highlight how issues have been managed to this point.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Respect, transparency, hope, and unconditional support.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Every interaction is custom to the client, be it via observation or expressed by the client. person centered is a pillar of my approach.
