About Christine
Christine Fatherree, LCSW, brings over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, working in a variety of roles to support adult clients seeking growth, healing, and clarity. She is deeply committed to helping individuals explore their concerns and make meaningful changes in their lives.
Christine works with adults experiencing depression, grief, life transitions, and trauma (though not military-related trauma). She understands that beginning therapy often starts with important questions—and that exploring those questions can lead to real transformation. Her therapeutic approach is tailored to each client’s needs, drawing from a range of evidence-based practices including traditional Talk Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
(EMDR). This flexible approach allows Christine to offer personalized support that meets you where you are.
Christine is genuinely curious about your story and provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore both your inner world and life circumstances. While therapy can be challenging, it can also bring moments of insight, relief, and even humor.
If you’re ready to begin the process of change, Christine is here to support you. Schedule an appointment when you’re ready to take the next step.

"During our therapy session, you will encounter a warm-hearted, empathetic, inquisitive, and attentive therapist eager to understand more about you."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
It was probably in my 20,s. I was experiencing some profound changes in my life and did not always know how to address them. In the process of discovering my truth, I also discovered the strong desire to help others. There were insightful and wise therapist who assisted me along the way. I began working in Local Mental Health Authorities as a Case Manager and things clicked.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work primarily with adults, 18 and up. Clients who want to work on themselves and are ready to do the work to effect changes in their lives are always amazing to work with because they are able to create an understanding of themselves and possibly a new direction for themselves.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
There is not a particular type of client that excites me. What excites me is when clients begin to get the insights into their issue and start understanding themselves better.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish clients know that I do not direct the change they wants. They do! The client is in charge and determines where we go on their roadmap. They drive us there. I provide the means to get there.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks offers me the option of providing in person and teletherapy; a hybrid option. Covid changed so many factors related to work, and I'm glad that Thriveworks moved forward with the change.
What inspires you?
People who don't give up, who keep fighting and who continue to grow as people inspire me.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session is where we will get to know each other a bit. I will do an extensive intake. The questions I ask lead to a more detailed history of you. Additionally, I want to know what brings you to therapy and what you are looking to address in therapy, (creating your roadmap).
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I hope to get a better understanding of you as a whole person and what you want from therapy.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I would like clients to know that I value them as people.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I work in yard!.. I am a novice gardener, but I love mowing the grass, tending to my flower beds. I am thing about maybe adding a vegetable patch this Spring.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am a good friend.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
I don't think I had the success, she did. Client continues to see herself through her childhood experiences. Using therapeutic tools to interrupt the beliefs about herself, she was able to change her belief, saying "I have a new mirror".
