About Yvonne
I am a Licensed Associate Counselor with 2 years of experience providing evidence-based mental health care to diverse populations. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, family conflict, and couples. My ideal client is someone who may be facing life transitions, stress, or self-doubt, and is ready to seek support and make positive changes. They may need help developing coping strategies, building confidence, or finding new perspectives to navigate challenges. Their goals often include improving emotional well-being, strengthening relationships, and achieving greater self-understanding and resilience.
I earned a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I use diverse therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness therapy, and emotional freedom techniques. I take pride in tailoring various methods to best support clients' needs.
I know how important it is to feel heard, supported, and respected, especially during challenging times. With genuine empathy, I strive to create an environment where we can work toward meaningful change. If you are seeking support and a fresh perspective, consider reaching out—your journey toward growth and healing can start here.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I always wished I had someone I could share my feelings and thoughts with—someone who would listen without judgment and offer support and encouragement during tough times in my life. This experience inspired me to provide that same safe, supportive space for others who need it.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I don’t have a favorite type of client I work best with. I believe that every individual brings their own unique strengths and challenges to the therapeutic process. My goal is to meet each client where they are and tailor my approach to best support their personal journey and needs.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with a diverse population of clients. I appreciate the unique perspectives and experiences that each individual brings. Working with people from various backgrounds allows me to learn and grow as a therapist, and I am passionate about helping clients from all walks of life achieve their personal goals.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that everyone experiences challenges at some point in their lives. Struggling or facing difficulties is a normal part of the human experience, and it does not define a person’s worth or potential. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength and an important step toward growth and healing.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because it provided me with the opportunity to become a more effective therapist for my clients. Thriveworks offers a supportive environment and valuable resources that allow me to focus on delivering high-quality care and making a positive impact in the lives of those I work with.
What inspires you?
What inspires me most is overcoming adversity. Facing and rising above challenges motivates me to grow, adapt, and become stronger. Witnessing resilience—both in myself and others—reminds me of the power of perseverance and the valuable lessons that come from pushing through difficult times.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session serves as an initial introduction, providing an opportunity for both parties to get to know each other, establish rapport, and build a connection. The goal of this meeting is to determine whether a positive working relationship can be established. Additionally, questions will be asked to gain a better understanding of how best to move forward together.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, my primary goal is to build rapport by creating a welcoming and safe environment. I aim to ensure that each individual feels comfortable sharing openly and without fear of judgment. Establishing this foundation of trust is essential for fostering effective communication and a positive working relationship moving forward.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session, a client should know that my approach is centered on respect, empathy, and confidentiality. I am committed to creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can feel safe and open in expressing themselves. My focus is on building a collaborative relationship, tailored to each individual's needs and goals.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
For fun, I enjoy staying active by exercising 6–7 days a week. I also love spending quality time with friends and family, listening to music, and reading. Recently, I’ve started learning Country Line Dance, and I’m exploring new activities like Pickleball and bowling. These hobbies help me stay balanced and bring a sense of joy and connection to my life.
