Get to know Taylor
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I chose to become a therapist because I value relationships. My job gives me the opportunity to form a variety of relationships with people every single day.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Progress is typically less about what we do in session and most about what is done OUTSIDE of session.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I typically try to ensure clients know the format or structure of the first session, identify a goal or two to focus on that day, and have the client leave with something to try to improve their week between sessions.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I always hope clients leave with more hope or encouragement than they had walking in.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy running and wandering the city.
