About Sharaya
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 7 years of experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, and identity concerns. I often work with high-achieving professionals who feel emotionally exhausted, stuck, or disconnected and are seeking greater clarity, balance, and meaningful change in their lives.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Capella University. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy to help clients build insight and practical coping skills.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to begin, or ready for meaningful change, therapy can be a supportive step forward. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen, understood, and empowered to move forward at your own pace with intention and confidence.

"As a licensed psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and healthcare leader, I bring a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed approach that helps clients feel truly seen while building practical strategies for healing, growth, and lasting change."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a counselor because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s experiences and helping them navigate challenges with compassion and clarity. My work across clinical settings and healthcare systems showed me how powerful supportive, ethical, and accessible care can be. I wanted to be part of that change—providing meaningful support to individuals while also strengthening the quality of care within the broader system.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adults who are motivated for growth and seeking meaningful change, including those navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, and identity concerns. Many of my clients are high-achieving professionals who feel emotionally exhausted, stuck, or disconnected, as well as individuals working through boundary issues, family dynamics, loneliness, burnout, or co-occurring concerns such as substance use and chronic stress.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that therapy isn’t about being “broken” or needing to have everything figured out before you begin. Healing is a process, not a straight line, and showing up with honesty and openness is often the most powerful first step toward meaningful change.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect a warm, collaborative first session focused on building comfort, understanding their concerns, and clarifying goals. Early sessions are about creating safety, exploring patterns, and developing a shared plan for treatment, while beginning to introduce practical tools and strategies to support progress.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by values of empathy, authenticity, cultural humility, and respect for each person’s lived experience. Working across diverse clinical and healthcare settings has deepened my belief that people are resilient and capable of growth when they feel truly seen and supported. I value collaboration, honesty, and creating a space where clients feel safe to be themselves.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking time to understand each client’s experiences, strengths, culture, and goals, then integrating evidence-based approaches like CBT, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused strategies to fit their needs. Sessions are collaborative and flexible, adjusting over time to ensure therapy feels relevant, supportive, and effective.
