Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I have a strong desire to help others and to assist people with the challenges of daily living. I have been told that I am a good listener, and people seem to feel comfortable confiding in me.

What types of clients do you work with best?

All types. The ideal client is ready and willing to solve the problem. They are aware of both their contribution to the problem and its solution and are invested in addressing their behavior.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

All types of clients

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all my clients knew how important they are and how important their life is and that seeking therapy is an an act of courage and strength.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Flexibility and being able to focus on counseling and not the paperwork.

What inspires you?

People from all walks of life inspire me.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Your first session should allow you to get to know a client and give you the chance to ask questions. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss the goals of the therapy and what you hope to accomplish with treatment.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

In the first session, you will put a counselling contract in place, discuss boundaries and the limitations of confidentiality. It also gives you as the counselor an opportunity to assess the client's needs as they explain their reasons for seeking counselling.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

Basic information such as my name, education, specialties, brief bio, experience etc.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Travel, explore different cuisines, spend time with family.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I am constantly growing as an individual
