Reena Pawar is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in treating clients who are going through life changes, including divorce, career changes, adapting to college life as a young or older adult, and more. Reena’s background has equipped her with skills that are attuned to listening and working with individuals. She completed her Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling at Saint Peter’s University.
Reena’s superpower is being a good listener, offering understanding, and being patient. She believes you can build empathy by not interrupting the client, not dismissing the client’s beliefs, not being judgmental, and not talking too much in general.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have a strong desire to help others and to assist people with the challenges of daily living. I have been told that I am a good listener, and people seem to feel comfortable confiding in me.
What types of clients do you work with best?
All types. The ideal client is ready and willing to solve the problem. They are aware of both their contribution to the problem and its solution and are invested in addressing their behavior.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all my clients knew how important they are and how important their life is and that seeking therapy is an an act of courage and strength.

People from all walks of life inspire me.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Your first session should allow you to get to know a client and give you the chance to ask questions. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss the goals of the therapy and what you hope to accomplish with treatment.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, you will put a counselling contract in place, discuss boundaries and the limitations of confidentiality. It also gives you as the counselor an opportunity to assess the client's needs as they explain their reasons for seeking counselling.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Basic information such as my name, education, specialties, brief bio, experience etc.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Travel, explore different cuisines, spend time with family.

I am constantly growing as an individual
