She works collaboratively, offering tools to manage life’s challenges with confidence and clarity. Maria is passionate about reminding clients they don’t have to face their struggles alone—she’ll walk alongside them every step of the way.

"Healing from trauma is a brave step, and I’m honored to walk alongside you in a safe and supportive space. We'll use cognitive processing therapy to help you find your strength and move forward, always at your own pace."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because far too often, people run into biases when they try to find a space to express themselves. Instead, you can run into someone else's projections as they try to fit you into a box. But people don't belong in boxes; they belong in spaces where they are given radical acceptance.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
The first few sessions are all about getting to know each other and building a foundation of trust. We'll spend our first session diving into your history to better understand who you are, the key people in your life, and the symptoms you'd most like to address.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
For fun, I love to cuddle with my dog while we make shocked faces at our new favorite Netflix series. I also enjoy catching musicals at the Walnut Street Theatre, trying to master Quizzo, and listening to funny podcasts to get a good chuckle. To grow as a counselor, I make time to listen to different professional development courses. Yoga is my current go-to, but I also love hitting the gym for a good sweat—and you can't leave out a good massage when the muscles are sore!
