Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Becoming a counselor was a natural decision for me. I have always been able to empathize easily with people and always try to see the world through others' eyes. I've also always wanted to help people, especially to find their own path without judgement.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I have had a wide range of experiences and this leads me to be confident that I can work with many types of adult clients.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with anyone that is looking for the help. Whether the client knows exactly what they want to get out of therapy or not. This is a journey to explore and I am here for the exploration to get a person through.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That therapy is not a magical tool. It takes work to improve; a willingness to look inside, challenge beliefs, and be aware of behaviors.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks provides me the opportunity to work with a large group of people and many different and unique experiences.
What inspires you?
I gain inspiration from the little successes that my clients have. I believe these should be celebrated as much as the large changes.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect to feel like they have a safe space where they can be open and not judged.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
My first sessions are about setting the tone for the process of therapy. I work with clients to figure out what their goals may be and what works best for them.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
That I relate to each of my clients as the individual person they are. I do not have a "one size fits all" approach to therapy.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like to take my camera out and photograph people, places and things.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am a person that strives to see someone else's perspective.
