About Lauren

Lauren Whittet is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey who has been licensed since 2019. Lauren has worked in the mental health field for 10 years and has worked with clients in multiple settings throughout the lifespan. She has assisted individuals by providing counseling services to those experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and trauma.

Lauren completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Rider University and received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at The College of Saint Elizabeth. Lauren emphasizes a client-centered approach, helping the client to feel supported and successful in treatment. Lauren aims to provide empathy-driven treatment that leads to an empowered and excellent quality of life. Lauren utilizes the following approaches to therapy; mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, existential therapy, and eclectic therapy. She always develops a culturally competent treatment plan, meeting the client where they are and working to achieve their goals.

Lauren understands that counseling is a very difficult thing to do, so she commends you for taking this first step to research therapists in your area. Lauren believes that the most important factor for counseling to be successful is the connection that you feel with your therapist. Trust is important for change to occur. Typically when you are struggling in any area of your life, it is because trust was violated at some level, whether you are aware of it or not.
