About Kathleen
I strive to provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere that fosters trust in order to facilitate meaningful discussion of the issues that may be eroding one's well-being and optimism. In this calm and trusting environment, individuals, couples, and families can work toward understanding the root causes of trauma, negativity, depression, anxiety, and conflict. Together we will work to build coping and mindfulness skills, flexibility, resiliency, acceptance, and a positive communication style vital for healthy relationships and a more meaningful, fulfilled life.
I use CBT, TFCBT, DBT, Nurtured Heart, Nurturing Parenting, Mindfulness, Seeking Safety, and HRT with CBIT to treat: PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ODD, Tourette syndrome, Asperger's syndrome, autism, grief, family conflict, divorce, self-harming, sexual/physical/emotional abuse, life transitions, parenting, and women's issues.
I hope to find a trusting and safe space and relationship to support you in moving forward in your life in the best possible way by providing you tools to do so. I encourage you to take the next step in scheduling an appointment with me to see if we would be a good match in working towards your emotional goals.

"As one who has experienced personal trauma and loss, I have an authentic understanding of how we are impacted by painful life circumstances and building new life skills can empower us once again. "
Get to know Kathleen
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I worked through my own painful life experiences and others often felt comfortable sharing their deepest and hidden thoughts and experiences which made me contemplate helping others obtain freedom from their past (shadow) selves to become whole again.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work with all types of people from all over the globe having lived in many countries myself; I do appreciate a client that is open to doing work rather than just venting - that said, if that is what is needed, I am welcome to provide that.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish I had known treatment was available in my younger years, but know that it is never to late to process, learn, and grow from therapy at any age.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, I will seek to hear from you as to why you are seeking therapy; together we will create goals to overcome and accomplish your needs.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
All of my life experiences and upbringing formulate my ability to provide you with a multidimensional approach to achieve your therapy goals.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I listen to what their needs are.
