Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I was always very passionate about mental health and social justice and thus I decided to pursue a career that would allow me to play a direct role. I wanted to empower others and support them on their journeys, while providing a warm and safe space.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who appreciate empowerment and warm accountability.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I love working with everyone, but I especially love working with the Latinx community, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Everyone deserves a warm and safe space where they will be heard, supported, and validated. I would like all of my clients to know that together we are a team on this journey of healing and there will be zero judgement as we progress on the path towards improved mental health and emotional wellbeing.
What inspires you?
People inspire me. My clients are my driving force. Seeing how strong and resilient they are shakes me, especially when they are making progress. When clients come to sessions consistently, reflect on what we last spoke about, etc. any progress, small or big is impactful.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During our first session we will get to know each other and see if we are a good fit as a team. It's important for my clients to feel comfortable and well supported and also feel that my skills are an appropriate match for their therapy goals.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I would like all of my clients to know that I will provide a safe and supportive environment that is free of judgement for them to share their story at their own pace and work towards achieving their goals.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to cook and bake, you'll often find me whipping it up in the kitchen, trying a new recipe I just found. I also like watching anime, reading manga and books. I thoroughly enjoy going to the gym, hanging out with my cats and loved ones.
