Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have always been a passionate advocate for others, especially when they are in need. Becoming a counselor gave me the training to effectively partner with clients to learn to advocate for themselves and reach their goals.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
That their past does not define them, and that treatment can open up ways for them to make effective choices in their life.
What inspires you?
To see a client begin to recognize their progress and become passionate and accepting about what they can achieve.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I try to establish what brought someone into my office, their expectations, their goals, and how I can assist them. I try to establish a comfortability and safe space.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
A rapport and understanding.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I am avid reader, of anything. I also love drives, camping, hiking, and hanging out with my husband and our dog.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I will not lie to any client. You may not always like what I have to say but I will always have your best interest as my goal.
