About Cherylann
I am a Licensed Social Worker with 4 years of experience helping clients navigate life transitions, identity exploration, and the challenges of balancing relationships, work, and personal well-being. My approach is warm, collaborative, and relational, creating a space for growth and trust. I specialize in supporting individuals managing anxiety, depression, or trauma, and I have a passion for empowering young adults to build self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful connections.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Smith College School of Social Work. My style is trauma-informed and client-centered, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches to help clients explore emotions, build insight, and develop healthy coping skills.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process rooted in trust and empathy. I aim to help clients reconnect with their inner strengths, find balance, and create lasting change. Whether you’re processing past experiences, improving relationships, or seeking greater emotional clarity, I would be honored to support your path toward healing and growth.

"Having experienced my own moments of difficulty, I approach therapy with deep empathy and a belief in each person’s capacity to grow, heal, and thrive."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My own experiences with mental health challenges have shown me how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen and understand. I became a counselor to ensure that others don’t have to face those struggles in isolation. I strive to create a space where clients feel supported, validated, and empowered to move toward healing and growth.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are looking for a genuine, trusting relationship where they can feel seen, heard, and supported. I particularly enjoy working with young adults and people who have experienced trauma, stress, or emotional overwhelm. I find that clients who are open to reflection and connection thrive in the collaborative, relational approach I bring to therapy.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish clients knew that healing takes time and that it’s okay not to have everything figured out right away. Therapy is a space to explore, to be curious, and to grow at your own pace, with support and compassion along the way.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where we’ll get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. I take time to learn about your background, your goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. The early stages of therapy are about building trust and understanding and creating a foundation where you feel safe, heard, and comfortable sharing your experiences. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, exploring emotions, and setting goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My personal experiences have taught me the importance of safe, supportive relationships in fostering healing and resilience. I value honesty, compassion, and self-reflection, both in myself and in the therapeutic process. These values guide how I show up with clients, with presence, openness, and a genuine commitment to understanding their unique story and strengths.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by meeting clients where they are. I recognize that each person’s background, experiences, and pace for healing are different, so I work collaboratively to shape the process around their unique needs. I integrate techniques from relational, trauma-informed, and cognitive-behavioral frameworks, while maintaining a focus on safety, trust, and empowerment.
