About Provider

About Amanda

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with 6 years of experience. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who have been impacted by trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I also have experience supporting individuals coping with grief, loss, and traumatic brain injuries. I’m passionate about helping my clients navigate emotional challenges, strengthen their relationships, and discover the resilience within themselves to live fuller, more balanced lives.

I earned a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. I am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Healing takes courage, and I deeply value the strength it takes to begin that journey. My goal is to provide a warm and caring space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change. Together, we focus on progress, resilience, and healing in ways that truly matter to them.

Get to know Amanda

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I have always felt drawn to paths that allowed me to help others. I became fascinated with the field of psychology and working with people in High School after taking a few classes and that passion has not faded away since-even when I studied criminal justice I knew the goal was to move into a psychology program. I have had many experiences that have helped to open my eyes to the struggles that many of us face and a passion for working with others. There is not any one thing that made me decide to work as a counselor but many things over the years that have made this the only clear choice.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who wish to understand themselves better and are open to discussing what is and is not working for them so we can determine the best ways to work together.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Therapy is a collaborative space that asks us to be vulnerable. It may take time to find someone we feel comfortable with having on our healing journey. I encourage all my clients to ask questions and try to empower them to understand the process.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

The first session will begin with making sure that client's are informed matters of confidentiality and their consent to therapy. I will also take the time to balance out answering questions or concerns clients may have with starting to build an understanding of their goals and experiences. Early stages we will work collaborating to determine how goals can be measured and individual needs.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I firmly believe in the powers of empathy, freedom from judgement and autonomy. I continuously work to keep the therapy space a safe place for clients to recognize their strengths and explore their goals and feelings.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I work hard with client's to ensure I understand their personal experience beyond any diagnosis or label they may have been given in the past. I encourage clients to be vocal with me if they have questions, concerns or feel that something is not working so we can explore together and make any adjustments to their care as needed.
