Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I love the journey of joining up with an individual, couple, or family to help them foster growth to discover a richer healthier life for themselves. I get excited over their wins.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Anyone age six through any age of adulthood. With kids I bring a lot of energy, especially to keep telehealth sessions interesting for them.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
As an EMDR trained professional, I get excited to work clients who have trauma to work through, as the positive results are so rewarding.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Healing and growth is available for everyone. It will look different person to person, but it's out there.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I like that Thriveworks' business model allows therapists to focus on providing services directly to clients while the company handles the business end of counseling.
What inspires you?
Every win. No win is too small to be celebrated. Little wins can stack up to something big.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
First sessions are all about getting to know you. We'll go over a standard Intake Form to gather background information, which allows for some easy structure as we get started. You'll also have an opportunity to share your story so we can get a better feel for your own goals and what direction to take our services. Sometimes kids and teens are a little reluctant or anxious at first, which is no problem. In those cases we can build slow connections.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Getting to know each other and identifying a rough road map for treatment.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to play in the kitchen! Last night I experimented with jam. I also enjoy playing table top games.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My warm and bubbly personality.
