Sarah Zych is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate with over 6 years of experience. She specializes in supporting children, adolescents, and adults through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, grief, and life transitions. Sarah is passionate about providing a safe, supportive space for healing and growth across all stages of life.
Sarah earned her Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University. She brings experience in crisis intervention and medical and school social work, and utilizes evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and art therapy.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor after having my own positive personal experience with social workers and counselors growing up. I want to be able to impact the life of others the way that my own counselors and social workers impacted my life. I want to be that safe space for my clients to come grow heal and succeed.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with middle and high schoolers, young adults, and families, creating a space where everyone feels supported, understood, and empowered to grow together.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm most passionate about working with children, teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or PTSD—helping them feel safe, supported, and empowered on their path to healing.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing that I wish all clients knew is that they are not past finding their happiness. It may take some work but living the life you want and deserve is possible and I’ll be here to help along the way.

What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the resilience of the human spirit—how people can face deep pain, loss, or uncertainty and still find the strength to grow, heal, and move forward. I’m especially moved by the moments when someone feels truly seen, heard, and understood—those are the moments that remind me why I do this work. Therapy is not just about treatment; it's about transformation, and witnessing that transformation inspires me every day.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In our first session we will get to know each other better and fill out our intact paperwork. I want to get to know you and what brings you to therapy.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I would like to accomplish understanding what your goals for therapy are , what brings you to see me this includes symptoms , challenges, past experience with therapy and your expectations of what you expect out of our therapy sessions together.

Before scheduling a session with me, clients should know that I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where they can feel safe to be themselves. I specialize in working with children, teens, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique needs, with a focus on building trust, resilience, and lasting growth.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Outside of work I love to read , make art, take photos , hang out with friends and family .
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my positivity, I am always looking for the positive in a situation.
