About Sarah
My name is Sarah Pearce, and I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2018, receiving my Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 2008, prior to therapy, I worked in education as a teacher, social worker, and mental health support provider. In early 2023, I began my journey at Thriveworks. I am welcoming, warm, and able to assist people of all ages through difficult life transitions, relationships, and mental health experiences.
I enjoy working with adults, young adults, families, and children. I am able to empathetically connect across age groups. I think it is important to meet people where they are through an understanding, validating, and supportive lens while providing resources and support for their growth.
I am a nonjudgmental, understanding, empathetic person with the tools and resources to help you. If you are ready to connect, grow, and feel supported, schedule an appointment today.

"As a therapist, I understand the importance of genuinely listening to the needs of others, and I have the knowledge to support your personal growth."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Forming positive relationships with others while supporting them through their mental health journey is such a special part of this work. Being a therapist allows me to utilize these relationships with others in a way to heal hearts and meet personal mental health goals for people of all ages.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I enjoy working with clients of all ages, I will meet you where you are. I enjoy working with children and their families and have the tools and strategies for engagements and growth. I really enjoy working with young adults and adults lowering stress, anxiety, and depression and support through life transitions. I also enjoy supporting marginalized communities including racial minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and financially disadvantaged people in order to support through imbalanced social/political systems.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I am most excited to work with people who need a supportive ear to process difficult life situations, lower anxiety/depression, or meet personal mental health goals. I enjoy working with people of all ages and look forward to assisting.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, I want to get to know who you are and what your goals are. This session will be relaxed and we will set our intentions together for the course of care.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
It is normal and safe to seek therapy. I believe, one of the most valuable characteristics of a quality therapist is to remain nonjudgemental of their client's situation. When you bring your feelings to me, I will listen empathetically without judgement.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have spent time working in the public school system, supporting children and families with mental health supports, behavioral health supports, as well as supports for financial, social economic challenges, natural disasters, loss of housing, access to food, and educational supports (including disability support) and much more. During this time, I was able to connect with these children and families in a humanizing way to s empathy for a variety of experiences, be inspired by their resilience, and and grow as a human myself.
