I wanted to become a therapist because I've always enjoyed giving back to my community.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy clients who come to sessions with an open mind and open heart.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm excited to work with all types of clients.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
You are not your diagnosis.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose Thriveworks because of the support they provide to their clinicians and how they make therapy more accessible.
What inspires you?
As a therapist, what inspires me most is witnessing the incredible resilience and courage of my clients. Every day, I have the privilege of working with individuals who are facing significant challenges, yet they demonstrate remarkable strength and determination in their journey toward healing and growth.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The client can expect to engage in a fun activity focused on building trust, understanding, and identifying the client's key goals.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
My goal is to build rapport and get to know the client outside of presenting problems.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before your first session, there are a few things I'd like you to know to help make the process as smooth and beneficial as possible. Firstly, know that therapy is a collaborative journey between you and me. It's a safe space where you can openly discuss your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. Your confidentiality is of utmost importance, and what you share with me will remain confidential unless there's a risk of harm to yourself or others.
Secondly, it's normal to feel nervous or uncertain before your first session. Therapy can be a new and unfamiliar experience, and it's okay to have questions or reservations. Feel free to express any concerns or expectations you may have, and we can address them together.
Thirdly, therapy works best when there's honesty and openness. It's important to be honest with yourself and with me about what you're experiencing and what you hope to gain from therapy. This allows us to tailor our sessions to meet your unique needs and goals.
Lastly, remember that therapy is a process, and meaningful change often takes time. It's okay to take things at your own pace and to be patient with yourself as you navigate through your challenges and growth. I'm here to support you every step of the way.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to read, cook, and play video games.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my relentless curiosity. I have always been driven by a deep desire to learn, explore, and understand the world around me.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
I've had the privilege of witnessing many successes with my clients, and each one is unique and deeply meaningful. While I can't share specific details due to confidentiality, I can tell you about a general success story that highlights the transformative power of therapy.
One client came to me feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and struggling to cope with past traumas. Through our sessions, they were able to develop coping strategies, gain insight into their thought patterns, and gradually build resilience. Over time, they experienced significant improvements in their mental well-being, including reduced anxiety symptoms and a greater sense of self-confidence and empowerment.
