About Isabella

Hi there, I'm Isabella, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of NC, CT, and DC. I'm passionate about supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders while helping them process the past, strengthen resilience, and move toward a more grounded future. My approach is warm, authentic, and collaborative, creating space for clients to embrace life's challenges while also finding greater peace and balance. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life to improve emotional well-being, build healthier relationships, and feel more confident navigating everyday stressors.

I am trained in trauma-focused CBT with certification in somatic interventions, as well as CBT and DBT approaches. I can help you better understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and nervous system responses while building practical tools to manage distress, improve relationships, and increase self-confidence.

Healing can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to face it alone. Whether you're feeling stuck, anxious, or overwhelmed, I aim to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and understood. Therapy is not about having it all figured out—it's about giving yourself the chance to heal, grow, and move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I chose to become a mental health clinician because I believe deeply in the impact of therapy, both from personal experience and professional perspective.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who honor that growth often starts with discomfort. I enjoy bringing a lighter side to therapy through humor and sprinkles of energy.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Progress often looks less like feeling “good all the time” and more like noticing discomfort, making space for it, and still choosing how you want to respond. Healing tends to be gradual, nonlinear, and sometimes subtle, but those small shifts can be meaningful and lasting.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In our first session together, we’ll begin with introductions and take time to get comfortable. We’ll explore relevant background history to better understand how your past may be influencing your present. I’ll also review confidentiality, answer any questions you may have about the therapy process or our work together, and discuss the therapeutic relationship. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and outlining a plan to support meaningful progress toward feeling more aligned with your best self.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is grounded in deep respect for each person’s lived experience and the belief that clients are the experts of their own story. Having experienced trauma myself, I understand how complex and nonlinear healing can be, and I strive to create a space that feels safe, validating, and empowering. I also value cultural competence and approach each client with openness and curiosity.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor therapy by starting with each client’s lived experience, strengths, and goals, rather than using a onesize-fits-all approach. I draw from evidence-based modalities while adapting interventions to fit what feels most accessible and meaningful for the individual in front of me. Throughout the process, I stay flexible and collaborative—checking in regularly, adjusting our focus as needs shift, and pacing the work in a way that feels manageable. I also consider cultural context, personal values, and readiness for change to ensure therapy feels relevant, respectful, and supportive.
