Get to know Emma

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

Besides being voted "most likely to become a therapist" in my high school yearbook, my life took me in places that made it natural to become one. Through my various life journeys, I gathered much empathy and experience with trauma affecting veterans, women and life itself. During a previous marriage with a veteran, I became very familiar with trauma and anxiety, I gained much experience with supporting people with trauma, so much so that I finally sought to make my high school predictors become true. At the age of 58 I earned my master's in counseling and haven't looked back since. I am truly honored and consider it a privilege to accompany people on their journey towards healing!

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

It is so important to find a therapist who can relate to you. I would encourage each person to find the right fit.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients can expect a listening ear, kind regard and a curiosity to know what brought you to therapy.
