Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I’ve always been deeply passionate about helping others navigate their emotional struggles and find clarity during tough times. I wanted to become the therapist I didn’t have—someone who listens without judgment and provides real, actionable support. Having faced my own challenges, I understand how important it is to feel seen and heard. I strive to create a space where clients can heal, grow, and build the tools they need to thrive.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with millennial women of color who are looking for straight talk, accountability, and real, actionable support. My clients typically seek guidance with managing their emotions, improving communication, and navigating life transitions. I create a space where they feel seen and heard, providing both compassion and structure to help them move forward with confidence.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m most excited to work with millennials of color who are ready for real talk and are looking for guidance in navigating life’s challenges. I love helping clients who are seeking accountability, emotional resilience, and tools to improve communication and manage stress. It’s inspiring to work with people who are committed to personal growth and want to create lasting change in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that healing and growth are not linear. There will be ups and downs, but every step—no matter how small—matters. Progress takes time, and it's okay to feel uncertain or overwhelmed. The most important thing is showing up for yourself, even when it feels tough. You don’t have to have it all figured out right away, and you don't have to do it alone.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because they provide a supportive environment that values both therapists and clients. Their commitment to accessibility, quality care, and fostering a collaborative approach aligns with my own values as a therapist. Thriveworks allows me to focus on what I do best—helping clients navigate life’s challenges—while also providing the resources and flexibility to grow in my practice.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the strength and resilience of people who are willing to face their challenges head-on, even when it’s tough. Watching clients make breakthroughs, no matter how small, reminds me of the power of growth and self-discovery. I’m also inspired by my own journey—how overcoming personal struggles has shaped my ability to help others. It fuels my passion for supporting others as they navigate their own healing and transformation.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In our first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming environment where they can feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns. We’ll start by getting to know each other and discussing your challenges and goals. During this session, you'll also complete a clinical assessment to help identify any underlying issues and establish a diagnosis. This will allow us to create a personalized plan for moving forward, focusing on practical strategies, emotional support, and real talk. My goal is to ensure you feel heard and supported as we work together towards healing.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I want to accomplish two key things: first, to establish trust and ensure you feel comfortable sharing your story, and second, to gather essential information through a clinical assessment that will help us identify any underlying issues and create a diagnosis. This session is about laying the groundwork for our work together, so you leave with a sense of direction and an understanding of how we can move forward in a way that feels right for you
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session, clients should know that I take a direct, compassionate approach to therapy. I value real talk and creating a space where you can be your authentic self without judgment. I’m here to listen, understand, and help you navigate your challenges while providing practical tools to move forward. My goal is to help you gain clarity, build emotional resilience, and create lasting change in your life.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
On my time off, I love to unwind by working out, especially weightlifting, which helps me clear my mind and recharge. I also enjoy reading and doing creative activities like diamond painting, which allows me to relax and focus. It’s important for me to have outlets that help me de-stress and stay balanced, so I can show up as my best self for both my clients and myself.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my commitment to personal growth and self-reflection. I believe in constantly evolving, learning from my experiences, and making time for activities that nourish my mind and spirit, like working out, reading, and creative hobbies. This passion for growth allows me to approach life with an open mind and an authentic perspective, which I bring into both my personal life and my work with clients.
