About Courtney
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with 17 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life transitions, mental health challenges, and caregiving journeys. My background includes over a decade of leadership in counseling, advocacy, and nonprofit roles, allowing me to bring compassion, structure, and insight to every client relationship.
I earned a Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. My clinical focus is helping clients navigate emotional and relational stressors through empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. I aim to foster resilience, personal growth, and confidence.
Before becoming a clinician, I led community engagement programs for youth and families across Mecklenburg County, developing initiatives that encouraged healing and connection. Today, I’m dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

"My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based techniques that foster resilience and personal growth."
Get to know Courtney
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
From a very young age, I knew I wanted to work in a helping profession. My favorite class in high school was Psychology, and I continued to study that in college. I also had personal experience with a family member who struggled with severe depression.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Adolescents 16+, adults, and older adults
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing is possible and therapy can be life changing. There is no shame in seeking help and guidance while dealing with some of life's challenges.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session is a chance to get to know you (what brings you to therapy, what are your goals, etc.). This time will not be rushed as in very important to establishing the therapeutic relationship.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My strong knowledge of mental health disorders, my commitment to offering a non judgmental and safe space for clients to share their experiences, and my ability to connect with individuals in an authentic and empathetic way inform my practice as a therapist.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I meet each client where they are.
