About Christine
Chrissy Hannon is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse. She wants to help people on their way to healing whether it's depression, anxiety, grief, stress, or substance abuse.
Chrissy completed her Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Arkansas and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Tennessee. She has worked with individuals of a wide range of ages, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds. She believes in using an integrative, holistic approach when addressing the many challenges people face in life. This allows Chrissy to flexibly approach each client's unique challenges.
We all confront difficult situations, uncomfortable emotions, or painful experiences. Chrissy would like to be a part of your healing journey by offering support and introducing new, healthier ways of coping. If you are ready to start this journey to self-healing, schedule an appointment with her.

Get to know Christine
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor because I want to help people find the best version of themselves. We've all had challenges and stumbling blocks in life. Hopefully therapy can play a role in addressing the challenges and removing the stumbling blocks. I believe each person has a unique story to tell about their life and deserve a safe space to share their thoughts and feelings.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with clients who are ready to improve their life and began the journey of healing-whether it's working on depression, anxiety, anger, grief, or any other emotional problems.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Part of being human is to know pain. It's how we choose to respond to painful experiences that determines our course in life.

A company that gives me the ability to work with clients in office and/or virtually.
What inspires you?
I'm inspired by the resiliency of people who show bravery and courage when sharing their deepest secrets and experiencing painful emotions.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A comfortable, safe emotional space to share their struggles.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
A chance to get to know the individual by learning about what they want to work on in therapy and what kinds of goals they want to set for their treatment.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
This is a collaborative process and it is my goal to empower clients to make the changes they want.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy taking horseback riding lessons, and I love to read, write, spend time with family and friends.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I'm from Alabama and definitely a Crimson Tide fan.
