Britney Fulp is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of mental health experience. She has worked in inpatient mental health, school-based settings, and private practice. She has walked therapeutically alongside individuals working through trauma, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, as well as ADHD and autism. Britney believes that the most important aspect of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client.

Britney has a Master’s in Social Work from Winthrop University. She brings an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy.

Britney knows how challenging it is to take the first step to mental wellness, but is so privileged to partner with you for your journey. Wherever you are on your journey, Britney wants to help you take the next step toward healing and personal growth.

Get to know Britney

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I wanted to create genuine connections with people and partner with them on their goals.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with individuals who are willing to make changes.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited to work with clients that are ready to have a transformative experience in their life.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Therapy and healing are not linear. There are going to be bumps along the road.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Their mission aligned with what I was seeking in terms of company culture.

What inspires you?

The kindness of others, the fact that animals exist, the sunrise and sunset.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

I want you to feel like you are gauging your “goodness of fit” with me to see if we are going to be a therapeutic match. There will be a good bit of questions because I want to get curious about you. Please ask me questions too!

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to know what you want from this experience and how I can help you get there.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I make corny jokes; it is okay to laugh at me because I guarantee I am laughing at myself

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Hang out with my golden doodle Happy, my friends/family, read, go to concerts or travel.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

Compassion.
