About Ashley
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 11 years of experience. I’m licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. My experience began in a dual-diagnosis hospital with adolescents facing chronic illness and mental health challenges. Over the years, I’ve supported individuals of all ages navigating autism, depression, anxiety, personality and mood disorders, adjustment concerns, and grief, with each experience shaping me into the therapist I am today.
I earned a Master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. My approach is rooted in empathy and person-centered care, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy to help clients build skills, find balance, and foster growth. I’m committed to creating a safe, compassionate space for healing and transformation.
Therapy is your journey, and I’m here to walk with you every step of the way. I’m excited to help you move toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. Whenever you’re ready to take that first step, I’d be honored to support you along the way.

"Social work chose me as a way to live out my purpose of helping others find hope, healing, and strength through connection and faith."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I've always had a deep passion for helping others and I believe everyone deserves the chance to be heard and to heal. My own experiences taught me the value of having a safe, compassionate space to process life's challenges.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I connect best with clients who want a therapist who's compassionate but also real and relatable. I'm not the typical "TV" therapist. I bring warmth, humor, and authenticity into sessions, creating a space where you can show up as you are and still feel supported and understood. Understand we're going to laugh, you're going to cry, but the work will get done! And that's what's important.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
BREAK THE STIGMA! Therapy is the best thing that happened for me as a therapist. So many people don't get therapy because of how they think it will make them look. But I promise you it can change your life. And it may take more then one therapist before you get it right. I always tell my clients it's like a relationship because you may have to keep trying until you find that one and that's ok!
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect to feel comfortable, feel heard and understood. I'm here for you and want to ensure after our first interaction you not only agree to weekly therapy with me, but to upgrading your life. In the early stages of therapy expect to allow space for me to get to know you and what is bringing you to therapy. We will develop a plan based on your needs to work towards together as a goal for therapy and your success.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I value authenticity, empathy, and creating a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and support as they navigate their journey.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I approach therapy meeting each client where they are, understanding their own goals and strengths. I take time to understand what matters most to them, what has and hasn't worked in the past, and what challenges they currently face. I ask thoughtful questions, use active listening and collaborate with clients to identify strategies and techniques that will be best for each individual client.
