About Melody
Hello! I am Melody Davisson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I enjoy working with individuals ages 13 and up, including young teens, adults, families, and older adults. I worked in hospice for 4 years, and I worked at The University of Southern Mississippi for 5 years teaching Social Work students.
I utilize a holistic approach and will also integrate spiritual counseling into our sessions if needed. I recognize that everyone needs support in different ways, and my goal is to help you build the skills and insight you need to live a fulfilling life.
I have a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s transitions and rediscover who they are in each season of life. Change—whether expected or unexpected—can bring uncertainty, grief, and growth, and you do not have to walk through it alone.

"With a background in working with young adults or elderly, I am able to help you through many different life transitions from a holistic approach. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
People are meant to be relational. To me this means we are not to go through life alone. I want to help people feel like the best version of themselves and make positive changes in their life.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Women, young adults, caregivers, faith based
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Progress can be big or small nor is it on a timeline.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect rapport building with a listening ear. They can expect goal setting in a collaborative way.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Clients are in the driver seat. It is my job to help give them the map of where to go but also help them enjoy the ride of life. Goal setting is a collaborative effort.
