About Leslie

I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in both outpatient psychiatry and crisis stabilization settings. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, stress, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. Many of the clients I work with are used to pushing through their struggles quietly while trying to keep up with work, school, relationships, or family responsibilities, and are looking for practical support, clarity, and lasting emotional stability.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and judgment-free. I combine medication management with supportive conversations, psychoeducation, and realistic goal-setting to help clients understand their symptoms, improve daily functioning, and feel emotionally balanced. Clients can expect honesty, empathy, and treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.

You do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out for support. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck, or simply trying to feel more like yourself again, I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being honest, understood, and supported throughout the process.

Get to know Leslie

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a therapist because I was deeply drawn to the unique stories people carry, recognizing that everyone has the genuine need to be profoundly heard, understood and validated. I don't want to just treat the symptoms, but to be the kind of professional that truly sees and honors the individuals behind them.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are looking for a collaborative, insight-oriented partnership. My approach focuses on creating a non-judgmental sanctuary and acting as a mirror to help people uncover their own resilience, I am highly effective with individuals who are ready for self-reflection, value deep attuned listening and seek empowerment over directives. I excel with anyone who is ready to do the meaningful, vulnerable work of self-discovery, allowing my balance of empathy and evidenced-based practice to guide them safely through their complexities.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish all clients knew that therapy is not being "fixed" by an expert; it's about discovering that you already have the capacity to heal. I also wish they know that they don't have to show up polished or "ready"-that the messy, uncertain parts of their story are entirely welcome, and that the ultimate goal is to help them safely uncover and trust their own inner strength.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, we will begin to lay the groundwork for our therapeutic relationship. We will discuss expectation, both from the client as well as the therapist. Together we will start out by having open, candid conversations about what the client hopes to gain from their therapy experience. There will be a lot of information gathering as we start the journey down the therapeutic path. In the early stages we will continue to build on that initial groundwork by continuing to gather information, listen to the goals of the clients and develop an outline for how we want therapy to progress.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

Tailoring therapy to each client's unique needs is the hallmark of an effective, culturally humble and client centered clinician. It prevents the work from feeling clinical or mechanical and instead turns it into a living, responsive partnership.
