Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I believe deeply in the power of human connection, healing, and the resilience that lives within each person. Having witnessed the impact of feeling unseen or unheard, I was drawn to create a space where people feel genuinely supported, accepted, and empowered. My own life experiences, along with a passion for mental health, inspired me to walk alongside others through their most challenging moments—offering hope, understanding, and tools for growth. I find purpose in helping clients reconnect with themselves, break free from painful patterns, and build more fulfilling, authentic lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are ready to explore their inner world, even if they’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck. I connect well with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. I especially enjoy working with people who are open to self-reflection and want to build healthier patterns, deepen their self-understanding, and create meaningful change. Whether you're just beginning therapy or returning to it, I meet you where you are—with warmth, compassion, and a commitment to supporting your growth at your own pace.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m most excited to work with clients who are ready to dive into their personal growth, even if they’re unsure of where to start. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, self-esteem struggles, trauma, or relationship challenges and are looking for a safe, supportive space to explore their emotions and build healthier coping strategies. I’m passionate about helping people reconnect with their authentic selves, break free from limiting patterns, and create lasting change. If you’re ready to take that next step, I’d be honored to walk with you on that journey.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that healing isn’t linear, and it’s okay to take things at your own pace. Progress often happens in small, sometimes messy steps, and it’s completely normal to have setbacks along the way. The most important thing is showing up for yourself, being patient with the process, and remembering that you are worthy of support and growth, no matter where you are in your journey.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of their commitment to providing accessible, compassionate care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Thriveworks values the importance of both personal and professional growth, and they offer the resources and flexibility to help me provide the best care for my clients. It’s a place where I can truly focus on building strong, trusting relationships with my clients while having a team that shares the same passion for helping others thrive.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the resilience and strength people show when they confront their challenges, even when they feel vulnerable or unsure. It’s amazing to witness someone start to reconnect with their true selves and see the transformation that comes from self-reflection, growth, and healing. The courage it takes to face difficult emotions and work through them inspires me every day. I’m also inspired by the belief that everyone has the potential to create positive change in their lives, no matter where they start from.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In our first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming space where they feel heard, respected, and understood. We’ll start by talking about what brings you in and what you hope to achieve through therapy. I'll listen closely to your story, ask thoughtful questions, and together, we’ll explore your challenges, goals, and any immediate concerns you might have. I believe in building a strong, collaborative relationship from the start, so I’ll make sure to explain my approach and answer any questions you may have. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and supported as we begin working together toward your healing and growth.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, my main goal is to establish a safe, trusting space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. I want to get to know you—your concerns, your goals, and what brought you to therapy. Together, we’ll begin to explore the issues you’re facing and start to identify the areas you want to work on. I also want to ensure you feel heard, understood, and clear about how we can work together moving forward. Ultimately, I want you to leave the session feeling like you've taken the first step toward meaningful change and that you have a sense of hope for the journey ahead.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session, clients should know that I approach therapy with warmth, empathy, and a nonjudgmental attitude. I believe in creating a safe, supportive environment where you can be open about your struggles, no matter how big or small. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, and relationship challenges, but I’m always open to whatever you want to explore. My approach is collaborative, meaning we’ll work together to find the best path forward for you. I’m committed to meeting you where you are and supporting you through your unique journey of growth and healing.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my deep commitment to family and creating meaningful, joyful moments with the people I love. Whether it’s spending time with my husband, daughter, and dogs or connecting with close friends, I believe these relationships ground me and give me a sense of purpose and fulfillment outside of my professional life. They remind me of the importance of balance, connection, and embracing life’s simple joys.
