Get to know Dwight

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I decided to become a counselor because I enjoyed taking psychology classes in college and saw the potential to use that knowledge to help others. At that point I dedicated my life to serve others who are in need of counseling services. My Christian faith was also a big influence on my decision in choosing a career of service to others.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I enjoy working with clients who are motivated for positive change and just need to develop the proper perspective to help them in doing that. I enjoy working with children and adults because I feeling learning about ourselves happens throughout life. I enjoy educating individuals regarding their condition to help them learn healthy ways to manage it.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients recognized their potential for growth and understand that it is never too late to learn new things about ourselves.

What inspires you?

I am inspired when I see clients begin to understand that they are capable of reaching their goals and become the best version of themselves.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients should expect to be heard while they give an outline of factors which have contributed to their life condition currently.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to have a clear picture of how clients arrived at their current life situation to better understand how to develop a viable treatment plan to address those needs.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

Clients should understand that my Christian faith guides me throughout the therapeutic process.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I enjoy spending time with family, watching movies, and attending classic car shows.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My ability to maintain a positive outlook in life is something I have always shared with those around me.
