About Alexis
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 6 years of experience helping individuals navigate emotional and life challenges. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where we work together to build trust, foster emotional regulation, and explore new ways to approach life’s transitions. I specialize in supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma, postpartum challenges, and low self-esteem, guiding them toward greater self-acceptance, empowerment, and lasting growth.
I earned my master’s in social work from Jackson State University, where I developed a deep understanding of human behavior and the power of evidence-based interventions.
My approach integrates CBT techniques that promote emotional regulation, acceptance, and empowerment, allowing clients to take courageous steps toward meaningful personal growth.
I understand that seeking support takes strength, and I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and respect. Whether you’re coping with stress, healing from trauma, or navigating a major life transition, we’ll work to uncover your strengths and build confidence for lasting change. I invite you to schedule an appointment so we can begin this journey.

"Navigating significant personal challenges as a single mother has given me a deep appreciation for how adversity shapes human well-being, teaching me the resilience required to rebuild and the transformative power of developing new life skills as a pathway to empowerment and a renewed future. I am here to serve you."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
A life-altering event deeply influenced my decision to become a therapist in 2016. Following a serious accident, I experienced a profound personal transformation that required me to navigate trauma, loss, and healing. That journey not only reshaped my perspective but also ignited a passion for helping others move through their own difficult transitions. Today, I bring that lived experience into my practice, offering empathy, resilience, and a deep commitment to supporting individuals as they work through trauma and reclaim their strength.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients experiencing PTSD and depression.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy, mental health, and the healing process are deeply interconnected aspects of personal well-being. Each stage informs and supports the others, creating a dynamic and evolving journey toward greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and personal growth. Healing is not linear—it unfolds through reflection, insight, and intentional change. Therapy provides a structured space to explore these layers, helping individuals make sense of their experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, and move forward with clarity and confidence
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
You can expect a welcoming, compassionate environment where your voice is heard and valued. I offer my full presence and active listening, creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. Think of me as a steady support—like a seatbelt—helping you feel secure as we navigate the ups and downs of life together. During our second session, we’ll begin crafting a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals, setting the foundation for meaningful progress and lasting change
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have personally experienced the challenges of PTSD and depressive symptoms, and I understand firsthand how overwhelming and isolating they can feel. Through dedication, the consistent use of evidence-based coping strategies, and a commitment to personal growth—including practices like positive affirmations and emotional regulation—I was able to move through that difficult period and emerge stronger. This journey has deepened my empathy and reinforced my belief in the transformative power of healing, which I now bring into my work with clients facing similar struggles.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I approach therapy with the understanding that each individual brings a distinct set of experiences, values, and challenges. From our very first session, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance rooted in trust, empathy, and active listening. I take time to understand your personal history, current concerns, and goals for therapy, which allows me to collaboratively develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and preference.
