About Provider

About Star

Hello, I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I work with clients struggling with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and sexual or domestic violence. Many of my clients struggle with low self-worth, guilt and shame, always putting others before their needs, and feeling unheard and undervalued.

I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, providing a collaborative, warm, nonjudgmental space. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the most powerful tool for change. Alongside this approach, I use cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR.

It can be difficult to take that first step and reach out, but each step can bring you closer to reaching your goals and becoming your best self. I feel honored to be part of your healing journey.

Get to know Star

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

In high school I took a psychology class and since then I have been curious about how experiences, genetics, and trauma impact the brain. Also, I love helping people find their strengths, building skills, and believe in themselves.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I have worked with diverse populations and enjoy getting to know each unique individual.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Therapy is what you put in it. The hard work pays off in the end.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Clients can expect a collaborative approach, developing your goals, to be heard, and valued.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

Many clients may share many similarities, such as diagnosis or problems, yet, each client is an individual. I will take the time to get to know you, your goals, coping skills that work for you, and your values.
