I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Counseling and I have been a practicing clinician in the mental health field for five years. I typically work with both teens and adults who are seeking help for a wide variety of clinical issues such as trauma, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, OCD, agoraphobia, depression, grief, stress, life transitions, relationship problems, ADHD, divorce, addiction, chronic pain, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, narcissistic abuse, spiritual abuse, and stalking.
I would describe my approach to therapy as compassionate, empathetic, client-centered and trauma informed. My faith background also undergirds all of my work. I believe the client is the expert on their own life and I work collaboratively with clients to establish their goals for therapy and to assist them in gaining both insight and practical skills.
Therapy is a place where you can be heard, understood and supported in both what you are facing and for who you are. I invite you to reach out and take that first step on your journey towards hope and healing.

"Having experienced trauma and loss myself, I bring empathy and compassion to others, understanding the courage it takes to rebuild, learn new coping skills and rediscover hope."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I find people and the inner workings of the human mind to be fascinating. I also have great compassion and a desire to help others.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are seriously motivated to grow, learn and change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that therapy requires a willingness to change and that change is hard work. Just as a plant has to be pruned in order to thrive (dead leaves/branches are cut off) sometimes there are relationships, habits, and attitudes that must be pruned so that one can thrive, not just survive, in life.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
My first session with a client usually involves completing an intake where I gather important information about a client's life history. In the early stages of therapy, the client and I are usually unpacking what brought them to therapy and helping them define their goals.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My personal experiences of trauma and loss inform my perspective that understanding and unpacking your trauma and learning new coping skills can be revolutionary in freeing you from repeating destructive and dysfunctional patterns and help you make better choices to create both a healthier and happy life.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Every client arrives to therapy with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. I tailor my work with clients by tapping into their strengths and harnessing those to learn and practice new skills they may be lacking.
