Michelle works with diverse clients on a spectrum of mental health needs. She is experienced at adapting therapeutic interventions for clients experiencing acute to severe and chronic mental health issues.

Michelle welcomes individuals that just need to talk and figure out how to cope and manage the difficulties that life throws our way, in addition to those clients that need treatment for more severe mental health issues. Michelle offers a supportive, safe, and collaborative effort to help clients understand and identify their challenges, and create goals that are unique and personalized.

Get to know Michelle

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I struggled with difficult challenges as a child, and I believe my own healing took on a need to help and support others.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Client's that are motivated to make positive changes in their life.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited to work with clients that are open and honest in a way that allows me to be more effective. I get excited when a client begins to feel better or utilizes coping strategies learned during therapy successfully and gain self-empowerment.

However, I understand completely that it takes some clients time to be able to open up, and that is perfectly fine, because when you do feel comfortable enough and open up, I will be excited for you.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

Any real or lasting change takes time and you may feel worse before feeling better.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I researched the different online counseling agencies, and found Thriveworks to be the best by far!

What inspires you?

Nature and people, especially my grandchildren.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

To tell their story so I can get a good understanding of where they been and where they want to go in their lives.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to know why they chose to begin therapy, and get a good understanding of the issues they want to address.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I hike, read books, hang out with my adult children and grandbabies.
