About Michelle
I am Michelle Jones, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health. I hold Missouri licensure and have worked across outpatient mental health, inpatient psychiatry, substance abuse treatment, corrections, and hospice care. I work with individuals, couples, and groups navigating bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, ADHD, anxiety disorders, PTSD, substance abuse, and behavior modification. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and tailored to help each client heal, grow, and thrive.
I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, and ACT to meet each client where they are. My style is collaborative and strength-based, helping clients identify patterns, build coping skills, and develop lasting tools for change in a structured, supportive space.
Wherever you are in your journey, you deserve support from someone who truly sees you. Healing isn't linear, but you don't have to walk the path alone. If you're ready to take that first step toward a healthier, more hopeful life, I'd be honored to walk alongside you. Schedule an appointment today.

"Hi, I'm Michelle — and I'm so glad you're here. Taking that first step toward support takes courage, and I want you to know you've come to a safe, judgment-free space and I'd love to connect with you and learn more about what brings you here so that you don't have to figure this out alone. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I believe every person deserves a safe space to be heard, healed, and empowered — and I knew early on that walking alongside others through their hardest moments was my calling.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals, couples, and groups who are navigating mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, trauma, and behavioral challenges — those who are ready to do the work, open to growth, and seeking a compassionate, structured space where they feel truly understood and supported.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish every client knew is that seeking help is not a sign of weakness — it is one of the most courageous, self-loving decisions you will ever make, and healing, no matter how long it takes, is always worth it.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In your first session, you can expect a welcoming, pressure-free conversation where I take the time to truly get to know you — your story, your struggles, and your goals. There are no right or wrong answers, only your truth. In the early stages of therapy, we will work together to build trust, identify what brings you here, and create a personalized plan that honors where you are while guiding you toward where you want to be.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My commitment to this work is deeply personal. As someone who has walked through my own seasons of pain — surviving an abusive marriage, overcoming anger, and embracing over 30 years of recovery from addiction — I understand firsthand what it means to feel broken and find your way back to wholeness. My lived experience fuels my compassion, deepens my empathy, and reminds me every day that healing is not just possible — it is real. I sit with my clients not just as a clinician, but as someone who truly understands the courage it takes to change.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
No two people are alike, and neither is my approach. I tailor therapy to each client by taking the time to truly understand their unique story, strengths, and goals before selecting the methods and tools that will serve them best. Whether that means incorporating CBT to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, DBT skills to manage intense emotions, or ACT to build acceptance and resilience, my approach adapts as my clients grow. I meet each person exactly where they are — with patience, intention, and a plan that is uniquely theirs.
