About Lydia
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 5 years of experience. I work with pre-teens, teens, and adults who are navigating life’s challenges, including stress, anxiety, depression, and times of transition. My goal is to provide a supportive and compassionate space where you can feel safe to explore your concerns, gain new insights, and move toward meaningful growth and change. I enjoy helping clients discover their strengths and build confidence in navigating life’s ups and downs.
I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. My approach is eclectic, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic styles to meet your unique needs. Together, we may work on exploring thought patterns, developing coping skills, processing past experiences, and strengthening self-awareness and communication.
Above all, I aim to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered. I believe therapy should feel approachable rather than intimidating. My goal is to walk alongside you on your journey so you feel more grounded, connected, and confident in your life and relationships.

"Based on personal experience, I know everyone can heal, grow, and create meaningful change in their lives using therapy as a safe place to gain skills, so this growth may happen."
Get to know Lydia
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I always knew I wanted to be in a helping field. After teaching for several years, and living life I made the decision that it was time for me to make a change. I knew I could help others because of my life experiences and it was time to do just that. There is nothing more exciting than providing hope, guidance, and a listening ear while watching others grow in their lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with pre-teens, teens and adults. I enjoy working with clients who are ready for change and growth in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Having a a non-judgmental, safe place to talk is so helpful to our healing.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first sessions, we will work on getting to know one another. Building this relationship allows for you to feel safe to discuss life's most difficult and challenging topics.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I always meet my client where they are. We will build a relationship, discuss goals, and work towards your goals. I will introduce skills and use techniques based on what you need to achieve these goals.
