About Jacob
I’m Jacob Glose, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and Arkansas with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I provide individual and couples therapy and specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational challenges. I am trained in EMDR and offer trauma-informed care for clients looking to process difficult past experiences and move forward with more clarity and stability. My approach to therapy is collaborative and honest. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential.
I build that through consistency, trust, & clear communication. Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, identifying your goals, and creating a plan that fits your needs. From there, the work involves exploring patterns, thoughts, and emotions that may be contributing to distress or keeping you stuck.
Beginning therapy can feel uncertain, but I work to create a supportive and steady space. My approach helps clients make sense of their experiences and build the insight and tools needed to face life’s challenges with more compassion, confidence, and direction.

"I am grateful you are here and my hope is that I can help you with the challenges you are having right now."

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
It's ok to feel and even more, it's ok to feel many different things at the same time. We receive so many messages from others around us about who we should be and how we should feel and therapy is about giving yourself permission and freedom to slow down and feel. Therapy is not about a therapist telling you what to do or who you should be but walking through the difficult parts of your life together and for you to decide who you are and want to be.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks has given me a platform to do what I am passionate about: to meet with people and be a therapist. There is so much support and freedom to focus solely on the people coming for help and support. There are so many barriers to getting quality mental health treatment and Thriveworks tries to remove so many of those barriers. Their values align considerably with mine and the focus is on you, the client.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In a first session with me, we will learn a lot about each other. We will also go at a pace that gives you control. The therapeutic relationship is built over time and the first session is putting the first piece of that relationship in place. We will ebb and flow between different parts and times of your life and you will have the freedom to share what feels comfortable and safe for you.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, my goal is to give a client a feeling of safety and that I understand what is distressing them in their life. There is always time to build the therapy relationship and the first session is to leave a client with the felt sense that it's safe to share more, invest more, and that I am a trustworthy person to confide in.
