About Phyllis
Phyllis Jones is a nationally certified Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LPC-NCC, CADC) with more than 25 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and seniors. She specializes in treating the effects of many disorders, including, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, family and marriage counseling, individual counseling, substance abuse, autism, and individuals with physical disabilities.
Phyllis enjoys using a solutions-focused, humanistic, existential, and eclectic approach, when working with individual clients, couples, and families. She takes great care and consideration in every session, ensuring that each client receives personalized mental health care.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
My first degree was in journalism and broadcasting. Years later, I began working with individuals with disabilities and i realized this was where I wanted to practice my career. I went back to school, obtained my BS and Masters in mental health. This has been my passion to help people live healthy and balanced lives.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
That there is a future without trauma and mental health concerns.

My faith and a positive life.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A relaxed atmosphere and acceptance of their stellar clinicians.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
A positive rapport and a relaxed atmosphere so that the client feels at ease and wants to continue with therapy sessions.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Gardening, cooking, binge watching The Walking Dead and 60 Days In, animal rescue and fostering.

My zest for a positive life.
