About Pamela
Pamela Rybka is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducational therapy, mindfulness, and meditation. Her philosophy of care is to involve clients in their treatment plans. She will work with you, exploring what has worked for you in the past and what has not. Together, you will look at how you as a client can become your optimum best self on this journey of life.
There is no right or wrong. Therapy is a process of growth. Therapy is about relationships," says Pamela. "Your relationship with your therapist and your relationship with yourself and those around you."

"As a woman ahead of her time, having been a divorced single parent with no full-time job or college education and then later in life having lived in a four-generational house, I understand being a caretaker for an elderly parent, I understand the dynamics of balancing life, personally and professionally throughout the lifespan with many planned and unplanned life transitions. "
Get to know Pamela
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
As a child I knew what it was like to hurt and be confused and I wanted to help others not hurt. I had a great teacher in grade school and the same teacher again in high school who went on to be a psychologist. She sparked an interest in me into the field of psychology.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Clients who are open to learn. Clients who want to become better versions of themselves.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Honest, open, and looking for their own internal pilot light who want to improve their quality of life and the lives of those around them.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
You are good enough.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose Thriveworks because I am going through my own life transition and the opportunity that Thriveworks presented fits very well with my own journey.
What inspires you?
Progress not perfection
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Intakes are a lot of basic questions but I would hope that the client would leave the first session with at least one goal to process and work on.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Explore what has and has not worked in the past as to not be redundant if something has not work and to offer reinforcement for what has worked.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Shop, play with my animals, spend time with family and friends.
