Get to know Marcy

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

Starting at a young age I have always had a strong desire to directly help people. Becoming a clinical Social Worker I am able to help my clients navigate mental health challenges, provide emotional support, and advocate for vulnerable populations. It has been my passion and my goals to help them with not only their psychological needs but also the social factors impacting their lives. I always felt the importance of having the ability to work with diverse clients across various settings and situations; essentially, making a tangible impact on people's well-being through a combination of therapy, and social support intervention. Helping others work on and achieve their mental health goals is the passion and dedication I hold for all of my clients.

What types of clients do you work with best?

My practice focuses on young adults, adults, couples and geriatric populations. I have done a great deal of intervention on adjustment to illness, grief and loss, aging issues, depression and anxiety.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I enjoy all of the clients I work with, and find that each client no matter what their current presenting problem is brought to therapy, I am dedicated and passionate to tailor my therapeutic intervention to their individual and unique needs.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

My hope is that all of my clients will understand and feel the passion, caring and commitment to providing the highest level of therapeutic intervention to help them achieve their goals and a positive outcome to therapy.

Positivity in my outlook on life. My inspiration professionally comes when my clients work hard to achieve their mental health goals and can move forward with a positive and healthy outlook on life. My inspiration personally and professionally entwine my goals to help others in both capacities and be an advocate for myself and others to lead a healthy life both emotionally and physically.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

I am honored to work with you on this journey, working together to get you to your attainable goals.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

To provide a warm, caring, empathic environment where there is an immediate sense of trust between client and therapist. To provide my clients with a sense of comfort and feeling safe in the therapeutic process by identifying and working on achieving their stated goals.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

As a therapist I understand that starting therapy can be at times overwhelming and anxiety producing. It is important to me that my clients know that by starting therapy they are giving themselves a gift of becoming a part of a safe, caring and empathic therapeutic process.
