My name is Joseph and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's of Arts degree in Community Counseling. I have several years of experience working with diverse populations within the mental health care setting. I work with clients who are experiencing overwhelming stress and frustration with specific life stressors within their environments and who are seeking a change in the way they interact with that environment.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy along with other evidence-based therapeutic techniques to assist clients with practical skills they can apply to challenging life circumstances.

I understand how overwhelming life can be with multiple factors influencing your life, and the need to address concerns in a way that promotes your overall well-being. I would appreciate exploring these concerns with you and finding ways to successfully manage them while also nurturing and enjoying the important aspects of your life.

"As a person who has dealt with frustrating circumstances and the feeling of being overwhelmed by many of life's obstacles I understand the challenge of getting through those moments with your sanity and life values intact."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became involved in the field of counseling and mental health due to both personal and family experiences with the hope that life can be lived in a more satisfying and meaningful way.

What types of clients do you work best with?

Adults and Seniors.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

That it's more of a process that can be worth the travel in your overall mental health and well being.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Clients can expect to explore their thoughts, feelings, emotions, needs and desires while utilizing tools to help them determine their best course of action in the counseling process.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I believe people have a innate desire to find satisfaction and contentment out of life and are willing to explore options that will assist in that process.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I focus on the client's personal goals and values and flexibly structure therapy around the attainment of those goals and values.
