Get to know Jamie

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My 10th grade psychology class introduced me to the mental and behavioral health fields and it all just clicked for me. I have stayed the course since then, with ever-growing passion for the work.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Women and men with anxiety between the ages of 20 and 60.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Motivated individuals.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients knew that they have immeasurable value and that they matter.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks is designed like no other company in this field. It supports its staff in such a way that the staff can better support the clients.

What inspires you?

My daughter.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

They can expect to be put at ease with some down-to-earth conversation about what their goals are for therapy and some basic boundaries that are expected in any strong therapeutic alliance.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

The beginnings of a good rapport and an assessment of their needs/wants.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I'm human too.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Spend time with family.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My sense of humor.
