About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Treger is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about creating a collaborative atmosphere to work with her clients on developing their natural resilience in working through matters of trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment, substance use, and personality disorders. Elizabeth has spent the last 10+ years working with individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, including those residing in transitional living. Throughout her years of counseling, Elizabeth has assisted clients in tapping into their strengths to achieve long-term change.
Elizabeth completed her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. She utilizes evidence-based modalities such as client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, EMDR, and mindfulness, believing therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience.
Elizabeth is committed to providing a comfortable and safe environment to assist her clients in processing and developing coping strategies to lead fuller lives. Getting help is one of the most courageous steps a person can make, and Elizabeth does not take the therapeutic relationship for granted. She invites you to reach out if you are ready.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I was a foster parent and had the opportunity to work with phenomenal counselors.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I really enjoy working with almost all clients as I really honor the courage it takes to know you need help.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I get excited about helping people who feel that their life has taken a wrong turn emotionally, and help them find their center again.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
You do not have to hide things from me. What you tell me is what we can work through.

I really connected with their mission.
What inspires you?
It is cliche, but often it is my clients. Their perseverance is always an inspiration.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I like to use the first session to have the client explain what they are hoping for from therapy, and begin setting goal and getting to know each other,
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I try and make it a comfortable experience and work to start developing rapport right away.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I can be a bit goofy and have no trouble laughing at myself.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I own a Martial Arts Studio and love teaching the children there and connecting with all our families.
