Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have always wanted to help others. It gave me an opportunity to be able to assist them in making positive change in their lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
People who are open and honest about the struggles they are facing. I prefer to work with adults but will also work with adolescents.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Things don't have to stay this way. There is a possibility of things being better than the struggle they are facing.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
It will give me an opportunity to work with individuals in a different capacity than I had been recently, and there is also flexibility.
What inspires you?
I do not have plans to change the world but being in the position to make a difference in even one person's life inspires me. I have a desire to help others and a longing to fight for social change and human rights. As a therapist, it provides me opportunities to give back to society and a chance to pass on lessons learned through experience.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
An opportunity to learn more about me, ask any questions they may have, and to provide information that is important to them on their journey.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
To make them feel comfortable when it can be so difficult to reach out for help.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I don't want them to feel pressured to share any more than they are comfortable and I want to be able to support and assist them on their journey.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy camping, fishing, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
Even outside of my employment, I will do my best to help others and be a good friend. I'm kind, sensitive, and non-judgmental.
