Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I've always been passionate about helping others navigate through the challenging times in their lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Clients willing to engage and take an active role in their treatment
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Any and all of them.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I believe that the client doesn't care how much you know until they know how much you care. I want my clients to know that I care about them, simply for being them.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I've heard many great things about Thriveworks from past clients and coworkers. I appreciate the flexibility to meet with clients both in the office and from the comfort of our own homes.
What inspires you?
Helping others recognize and achieve their full potential.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The initial session will be easy-going and informal where we get to know each other, more like a casual conversation. I'll answer any questions you may have, and we will explore what future sessions would entail and the goals we hope to achieve.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I mainly want to establish a sense of trust and rapport with the client in the first session. I also hope to establish some goals and a general plan for how to start working towards those goals.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I consider myself culturally sensitive and an ally of the LGBTQ+ community.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Play videogames and run RPGs with friends. Spend time with my wife and dog.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My creativity and artistic expression
