Get to know Tyler

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I've grown up being told that if you can help, you should; and this is one way I can help.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with middle-aged clients that are struggling with "next steps" in life and general depressed, or stress/anxious moods.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am excited to work with all of my clients; this is key to the therapeutic trust and relationship.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

You are worthy; we can work through this.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

It was a company that seemed to be invested in its members.

What inspires you?

Growth, exploration, kindness, and learning.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

This is where we begin to build the therapeutic trust and relationship. We will discuss direction of services, goals, and expectations from both the client and myself.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

Identifying the client's needs and wants, gather some background information, and generally see if we will be a good fit for services.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I am clinically trained with "chill vibes."

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Camping, hiking, video games, and spending time with my wife.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I am a card carrying Thespian.
