Hi, I'm Miranda! I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with experience working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, life transitions, and challenges with self-esteem and identity. My background includes both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, where I've supported individuals through some of life's most difficult moments. I strive to create a compassionate, welcoming space where clients feel heard, accepted, and empowered to better understand themselves, develop meaningful coping skills, and create positive change in their lives.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in ACT, CBT, and narrative therapy. I believe healing happens through connection, curiosity, and even play! I strive to create a space where clients can explore their stories, embrace their authentic selves, develop meaningful coping skills, and discover new possibilities for growth

You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out for support. Wherever you are in your journey, you deserve to feel heard, accepted, and understood. Therapy is a space to show up exactly as you are, without judgment or expectations. When you're ready, I'd be honored to walk alongside you. I invite you to schedule an appointment!

"Through my own experiences navigating life's challenges, I have come to understand that healing is not always about fixing what is broken, but about learning to approach ourselves with compassion, embrace our authentic selves, and build lives that feel meaningful."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My journey toward becoming a counselor began when I was just 13 years old, spending time with my greatgrandmother, who was living with Alzheimer's disease. As her ability to communicate faded, I learned that meaningful connection didn't always require words. Sometimes it meant playing silly games, sharing a laugh, or simply meeting her where she was. That experience shaped my understanding of compassion and sparked a desire to connect with others in meaningful ways. Over time, that desire grew into a passion for helping people feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow. I became a counselor because I believe everyone deserves to be met where they are, and that even the smallest moments of connection can make a lasting difference.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I wish every client knew is that therapy can be incredibly rewarding, but it also takes work. Growth and healing don't happen only during the hour we spend together each week. They happen in the moments between sessions, when you begin putting what we've explored into practice. My role is to walk alongside you, help you discover what that work looks like, and provide support and guidance along the way. Ultimately, you are in the driver's seat of your own journey. We'll work together to identify meaningful goals, navigate challenges, and celebrate progress, knowing that change takes time, effort, and compassion for yourself along the way.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Our first few sessions are all about getting to know each other! I'll ask questions to better understand who you are, what you've experienced, and what you're hoping to gain from therapy. But I also believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship goes both ways. I'm a real person with a personality, a sense of humor, and interests outside of being a therapist, and I want you to feel comfortable getting to know that side of me within the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship. Together, we'll explore what matters most to you, identify your strengths, and develop meaningful goals that reflect what you want for yourself. There's no expectation that you share everything right away or have all the answers. My hope is that our early sessions create a foundation of trust, authenticity, and collaboration so that therapy feels like something we're working on together, rather than something that's happening to you.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

Life has taught me that people are so much more than their hardest moments. My own experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the complexities of mental health, the courage it takes to ask for help, and the importance of feeling genuinely heard. I know that healing isn't always straightforward, and that growth can be uncomfortable, messy, and sometimes even a little scary. These experiences have shaped my belief that everyone deserves compassion, dignity, and the freedom to be authentically themselves. I strive to bring those values into every therapeutic relationship, creating a space where clients feel understood rather than judged, and supported rather than defined by their struggles.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I believe therapy should be as unique as the person sitting across from me. I begin by taking the time to understand each client's experiences, needs, strengths, and what they hope to gain from therapy. From there, we work collaboratively to develop meaningful goals and identify approaches that best support their growth. I recognize that no single therapeutic modality works for everyone, and I draw from a variety of evidencebased approaches, considering each client's individual circumstances, preferences, and readiness for change. I'm intentional about choosing interventions that make sense for the person, rather than expecting the person to fit the intervention. As therapy progresses, we continue to evaluate what's working, what isn't, and make adjustments together.
