I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland with a background as a former physician with a passion for holistic, compassionate care. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies with an understanding of the connection between mind, body, and spirit. I provide a safe, supportive space for healing and growth, incorporating faith and spirituality when meaningful to my clients.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. Drawing from CBT, attachment-based therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I help clients identify unhelpful patterns, process difficult emotions, strengthen relationships, and build practical coping skills. Together, we work toward meaningful, lasting change.
Life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. I believe everyone deserves a safe space to be heard and supported without judgment. Wherever you are in your journey, healing and growth are possible. I would be honored to walk alongside you. I invite you to schedule an appointment and take that first step.

"As a former physician and now a therapist, I bring a compassionate, holistic approach to counseling, integrating my understanding of the mind-body connection with evidence-based practices to help individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges, foster healing, and build healthier, more meaningful relationships."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My journey into counseling grew from my years as a physician, where I witnessed how deeply emotional pain, relationships, and life experiences influence overall well-being. I came to recognize that healing involves more than addressing physical symptoms; it also requires caring for the mind, emotions, and relationships. Becoming a therapist allows me to walk alongside people more intentionally, helping them find healing, build resilience, and experience meaningful change.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals, couples, and families who are navigating emotional distress, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I especially enjoy helping clients understand their emotions, recognize unhelpful patterns, strengthen connections, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. I value working with clients from diverse backgrounds who are seeking a compassionate, collaborative space for healing and personal growth.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing is not about becoming a perfect version of yourself, but about learning to understand yourself with greater compassion. Our experiences may shape us, but they do not have to define us. Therapy is not a sign of weakness; it is an opportunity to discover new perspectives, develop healthier patterns, and experience growth. Healing is a journey, and even small steps forward matter.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other in a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment. I will listen to your story, explore the concerns that brought you to therapy, and seek to understand your experiences, strengths, and goals. There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. As we move forward, we will collaboratively develop a personalized treatment plan and begin identifying patterns, building coping skills, and working toward meaningful change at a pace that respects your needs.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My years as a physician taught me that behind every symptom is a person with a unique story, and that healing involves more than addressing what is visible. My experiences across diverse cultures, alongside my roles in family and community life, have deepened my appreciation for compassion, resilience, and human connection. I value dignity, authenticity, empathy, and the belief that every person deserves to be heard and understood. These values shape my holistic approach to counseling, where I honor the connection between mind, body, relationships, and spirituality.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe therapy should never be a one-size-fits-all experience. I take time to understand each client's unique story, cultural background, relationships, strengths, and personal goals. My approach integrates evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment-based interventions, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), depending on individual needs. I collaborate with clients to develop meaningful goals, regularly assess progress, and adjust our work as needed. When desired, I also incorporate faith and spirituality in ways that respect each client's beliefs and values.
